At the outset of a project we collaborate with our clients to understand their requirements and get under the skin of their organisation in order to appreciate its ethos. We then work to establish the brief, or alternatively, we explore and challenge an existing brief, before moving forward to develop and test it to ensure that it accurately reflects the clients’ aspirations. We analyse the constraints and opportunities of the brief in order to formulate a conceptual design response that can then be progressively developed as a full design solution.

Cross-sector peer reviews at every stage by Principals and other senior members of our team ensure ongoing analysis, best practice and the input of experts in their field.

We were an early practitioner of sustainable architecture and design and were amongst the first architecture and design practices to achieve ISO compliance. Our auditable processes have been in place for over 25 years and quality assurance has driven our success for more than 85 years.

We believe that one solution rarely fits all; therefore our architecture is not defined by a pre-determined house style. Rather, our approach embraces diversity, allows individual expression and ensures that design solutions are environmentally responsive and appropriate to context, brief, culture and climate.
